It seems like just the other day we were diving back into the sprawling open-world of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS Plus, urging everyone to take on the challenge of completing this massive Western epic. But now, as quickly as it returned, it’s set to depart the PlayStation subscription service once again this October, taking along with it some other notable titles.
Recently, the PSN store’s “Last Chance” section on both PS5 and PS4 received an update, revealing the lineup of games that will soon bid farewell to the PS Plus Extra library. Red Dead Redemption 2, which just made its comeback to the service in May, is on the list. It’s a bit of a personal hit, as I had just embarked on playing Kingdom Hearts with my kids over the weekend. Here’s the complete list of 16 games exiting this month:
– Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)
– Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition (PS4 | PS5)
– Teardown (PS5)
– Chorus (PS4 | PS5)
– Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS4)
– What Remains of Edith Finch (PS4 | PS5)
– Overcooked! 2 (PS4)
– Superliminal (PS4 | PS5)
– Blasphemous (PS4)
– Moving Out (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts III (PS4)
– Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory (PS4)
– Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost On (PS4)
– Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising (PS4 | PS5)
– The Sims 4 City Living [DLC]
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas stands out among the departures. Both Blasphemous and What Remains of Edith Finch have earned themselves a solid reputation, and Teardown delivers unexpected fun with its voxel-based destruction gameplay. This round of Red Dead Redemption 2 lasted just six months, and now the Kingdom Hearts series becomes the latest collection of Square Enix RPGs to exit PS Plus.
Gamers have honed their ability to predict which titles will leave PS Plus, often basing their guesses on the common six, 12, and 18-month contract cycles that game companies typically engage in. There was speculation that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Humanity might be on their way out of PS Plus too, but it seems they’re sticking around for now. Consider this a little nudge—if you haven’t already explored these games, now’s the perfect time before the next big shuffle.
