Exciting News: Sign Up Now to Playtest the Sequel to the Viral FPS Splitgate!

Hey Splitgate fans, get ready to dive back into the action because the sequel to this viral sensation is now open for playtest sign-ups!

Sometimes a shooter comes out of nowhere and makes a big splash, and that was exactly the case with Splitgate back in 2021. While the game had been in early access for a couple of years, it really hit its stride with an indefinite beta phase. Then in 2022, when Splitgate officially launched, the developers at 1047 Games announced a bold move—they were pausing any new feature development on this Halo-meets-Portal game to focus on crafting a sequel using the powerful Unreal Engine 5.

Fast forward to earlier this year, the much-anticipated sequel was officially unveiled with a release window set for 2025. And now, as announced on the game’s official Twitter account, you have the chance to sign up and participate in the upcoming playtest!

The tweet enthusiastically calls fans to action with, “Suit up and get ready for more Splitgate 2! The team’s been cooking up something explosive and we’re excited to get your feedback.” Joining this playtest is straightforward. You’ll fill out a Google form that asks a few questions about whether you played the original, what recent shooters you’ve been into, and your preferred gaming platform, among other things.

However, a heads up—it requires your Steam and Discord information, probably because the playtest will run through those channels. If you’re a bit privacy-conscious, you might want to give this one a miss, but it’ll be hard to if you’re craving some early access.
