2K Games has decided to take out its launcher from all games available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Just last month, they shared their plan to phase out this technology by November. They also mentioned pulling out a beta version of it from Sid Meier’s Civilization 5.
In their blog post, 2K laid out the next steps for gamers. “We’ve taken care of most of the process, but you might need to lend a hand to complete things on your end. Start by closing and reopening Steam completely—not just minimizing it with the X button,” they suggested.
They also recommended, “A good old PC reboot can ensure everything is set in motion. If you’re on Epic, just see to it that you’ve installed the latest game updates.”
On the bright side, once that’s all set, games like BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, BioShock Infinite, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns will launch right away when you hit play.
