VR enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting new addition from the seasoned developers at Fast Travel Games. They have just announced that their latest VR creation, Action Hero, which draws inspiration from the popular Superhot series, is making its debut on Quest next month.
Action Hero takes the intriguing concept of time-slowing mechanics, as featured in Superhot and Superhot VR, and puts its own spin on it. In this game, time only moves when you do, allowing you to strategize each move with precision, much like choreographing a gun kata sequence worthy of an action movie hero like John Wick.
Mark your calendars for December 12th when Action Hero lands on Quest 2 headsets and beyond. In this thrilling VR experience, you’ll step into the shoes of the main character across five distinct ‘movies,’ each offering a unique genre twist.
Fast Travel Games has carefully crafted each film to consist of four acts, with each act packed with five cinematic scenes. Progressing through these requires taking down enemies and dodging obstacles, all in a stylish slow-motion dance. But beware—time speeds up with your movements, demanding quick reflexes and smart tactics. Get hit, and you’ll be sent back to the start of that act, making each playthrough a test of skill and nerve.
So far, a few of the genres have been teased by Fast Travel Games. Expect scenarios featuring a heist narrative, an adventure reminiscent of Indiana Jones, a futuristic cyborg saga, and a ninja movie— the last of which is prominently showcased in their latest trailer.
But that’s not all. Alongside intense slow-motion battles, Action Hero promises boss fights and a variety of weapons tailored to each cinematic experience. Plus, players can anticipate five special ‘Director’s Cuts,’ offering modified versions of the levels for fresh, outrageous, and tougher scenarios.
Exclusively launching on Quest 2 and higher on December 12th, Action Hero will be available for $20. If you’re eager to add this title to your collection, it’s currently available for wishlist on the Horizon Store.
