Anomaly is gearing up to make a splash in the gaming world this December as it lands on the Meta Quest platform. This fresh extraction shooter comes from the talented team at Greensky Games, who previously brought us Swarm and its sequel. Set against the backdrop of 2050, Anomaly plunges players into a haunting urban wasteland where they face off against both monstrous foes and rival squads, all vying for a coveted Artifact within its three uniquely challenging levels.
Gamers have the option to dive in solo or join forces with one or two friends, forming squads of up to three. The game sticks to the classic extraction shooter format: take down opposing teams, battle AI adversaries, gather valuable loot, and make a daring escape. Beware, though—losing a match means relinquishing all acquired treasures.
Peter Le Bek, the visionary founder behind Greensky Games, shared his thoughts on Anomaly’s development. “With Anomaly, we’re embracing the essence of extraction shooters like Tarkov and Hunt Showdown, but with a twist,” he explained. “It’s not solely about action. We’re diving deep into creating an atmosphere where escaping isn’t just a goal—it’s a visceral thrill. This VR shooter ensures that every heart-pounding match makes you acutely aware of every breath, step, and decision in ways other games just can’t replicate.”
For those eager to get an early taste, a Closed Beta is underway, and interested gamers can sign up to participate. Be ready to immerse yourself when Anomaly hits the Meta Quest Store in early December.
