A couple of months after facing a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, the developers behind Palworld, PocketPair, have finally issued an official statement.
Their report, shared on the company’s news page, details the demands set forth by the suing parties, which include an unspecified injunction against the game and financial compensation amounting to ¥5 million ($32,763 at the current exchange rate) to be paid to both Nintendo and TPC. Additionally, three specific patents have been mentioned in the documents, with initial references found on Gematsu.
These Japanese patents are labeled as JP7545191B1, JP7493117, and JP7528390. The patents were filed in July, February, and March 2024, receiving approval in August, May, and July, respectively. It’s noteworthy that Palworld was already in early access by January.
