Upcoming Ayaneo 3 Gaming Handheld to Feature AMD Strix Point CPU — Equipped with a 7-Inch OLED Display and Up to Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU

The well-known handheld console manufacturer, Ayaneo, has just unveiled its new flagship model, the Ayaneo 3. This device builds on the foundation of its predecessor, maintaining a similar form and button layout, but introducing several upgrades in its hardware.

According to details shared on Ayaneo’s blog, buyers of the Ayaneo 3 have the option to choose between two processors: the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U or the more robust AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. The device also boasts a seven-inch high-refresh rate display available in LCD or OLED HDR variants, promising an immersive experience for users. Ayaneo has also enhanced the console with two additional buttons on the back, offering gamers more control options.

For now, Ayaneo is keeping additional information about the Ayaneo 3 under wraps. We’re still anticipating details on its RAM, storage, and pricing. The previous model, the Ayaneo 2, was released with options of 16GB or 32GB of RAM and storage capacities of 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB. Pricing started at $1,099, with the limited-edition B.Duck model reaching up to $1,549. It’s reasonable to assume that similar configurations and possibly slightly higher prices will be available for the Ayaneo 3.

What makes this launch exciting is that Ayaneo 3 is set to become one of the first handheld consoles to feature the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. While many current games may not fully utilize the NPU in the HX 370 processor just yet, its additional cores, Zen 5 architecture, and AMD Radeon 890M integrated GPU undoubtedly give it a performance edge over the Ryzen 7 8840U. In fact, this processor could make it more powerful than several top-tier PC gaming handhelds, which often rely on the Ryzen Z1 Extreme.

The Ayaneo 3 is entering a fiercely competitive market, already buzzing with impressive options. We anticipate releases like the ROG Ally 2, MSI Claw 8 AI+, and Lenovo Legion Go Gen Two by the end of this year or early 2025.
