It’s hard to believe it’s already been almost a month since Monster Hunter Wilds hit the shelves for PlayStation 5! A big thank you goes out to all the hunters worldwide for being part of this incredible adventure. Whether you’re someone who’s been chasing monsters for years or you’ve just taken your first step on this journey with Wilds, we hope you’re having a thrilling time hunting down beasts in the world and putting in hours upon hours even after the story credits have rolled.
Today is an exciting day as we’re pulling back the curtain on what’s next for Monster Hunter Wilds with our very first Free Title Update:
Watch this space, as we unveil what’s next!
### The Graceful Mizutsune Dances into the Hunt
In the Monster Hunter universe, few creatures match the grace and danger of Mizutsune. It glides across the battlefield like a dancer, using its signature bubbles to confound and injure its foes. Hunters, prepare your gear to face this majestic creature making its first appearance in Wilds. Craft exquisite new armor for both your hunter and Palico after taking it down. And for those seeking an even greater challenge, prepare for the eight-star Tempered Mizutsune.
Start the hunt by chatting with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, but only if you’re at Hunter Rank (HR) 21 or above!
### Arch-Tempered Rey Dau Roars into an Event Quest
Up until now, Tempered monsters have been the peak of danger in Wilds, but that changes with our Free Title Update 1. Get ready to face an even fiercer foe, the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau, arriving in an Event Quest scheduled for Tuesday, April 30. Only hunters with HR 50 or above need apply – this is a test of true skill!
Of course, success in battle leads to rewards, and vanquishing Arch-Tempered Rey Dau grants you the materials needed to forge the stunning Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma) armor sets. So, polish those weapons and hone your skills before the big day!
### Another Round with Zoh Shia
The terrifying Zoh Shia returns in High Rank mode with Free Title Update 1. While previously, you could only challenge Zoh Shia once during the main storyline, this update lets you tackle this beast repeatedly. After the update goes live on April 4, hunters at HR 50 and above will find a new quest waiting for them.
You’ll find the Zoh Shia quest by selecting it in the Environment Overview. Occasionally, Zoh Shia may pop up as a quest opportunity during the Wyvern’s Awakening in the Ruins of Wyveria.
Equip yourself with the finest gear crafted from Zoh Shia’s remains.
### Enter the Grand Hub Social Space
Say hello to the Grand Hub, the new go-to place for all hunters wanting to meet, chat, and join in unique activities. This space has been a center of worship for the Suja people. If you’re lucky, you might catch the Diva singing an offering at night.
Up for some fun? Try out the new Barrel Bowling mini-game at the Grand Hub! Knock down targets with barrel bombs and rack up points to earn nifty items and pendants for your hunts. Just use your Barrel Bowling Vouchers, which you can collect in various ways, including as login rewards.
Don’t forget to enjoy a hearty meal with fellow hunters. The Felynes are cooking up a storm for you. Once you hit Hunter Rank 16, you can visit the Grand Hub by chatting with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord. From there, you can also manage your squads as the Squad Information Counter relocates to this new social space.
### Speed Through Arena Quests
Arena Quests make a grand return in Monster Hunter Wilds! Race against time, as up to two hunters aim to complete quests as fast as possible with set equipment. How do your times measure up against other players around the globe? Check the leaderboard at the Expedition Record Board to find out!
### Dive into Challenge and Free Challenge Quests
Engage in special limited-time Event Quests and earn pendants as a reward. Everyone who takes part gets a pendant, but special pendants are reserved for those with top personal or global rankings. Challenge Quests require you to work with set equipment and allow up to two hunters. Meanwhile, the new Free Challenge Quests let you bring your own gear and team up with up to four hunters. And hey, don’t forget you can tackle these alongside Support Hunters!

Good news, Alma can now sport some classic Monster Hunter series gestures and outfits, available soon as free downloadable content via the PlayStation Store. Plus, a Cosmetic DLC Pack is coming with Free Title Update 1. While this paid DLC is part of the Premium Deluxe Edition, it can also be purchased separately.
