A Pokémon fan has taken the community by surprise with an eye-catching new creation—a Ghost-type evolution of Eevee inspired by ancient Egypt, aptly named Anubeon. This imaginative take not only highlights the creativity within the Pokémon fandom but also fills a decade-long gap since Eevee’s last official evolution.
Eevee, introduced way back in the series’ first generation, remains a standout favorite among fans due to its adorable design and diverse evolutionary paths. Despite having eight different Eeveelutions under its belt, including the most recent Fairy-type Sylveon from Gen 6 in 2013, fans have been eagerly awaiting new additions. However, the long hiatus has ignited a wave of fan-made designs that capture the spirit of Pokémon in fresh and exciting ways.
This latest creation comes from a Pokémon enthusiast known as Patient-Ambition9826, who has shared their unique vision with the Pokémon community. Anubeon boasts a captivating combination of features: it has the body of a small feline creature, crowned with an Anubis-inspired head, glowing yellow eyes, deep blue skin, and a tail resembling an ankh. They even imagined a shiny variant, where the head turns a darker shade, and the skin adopts a grey hue. Patient-Ambition9826 is not stopping there; they plan to continue the theme with a Ground-type Eeveelution in the future, also drawing inspiration from Egyptian lore.
Ghost-type Eeveelutions have a loyal following among fan artists, and recently, fans have seen a surge in such creative concepts. Take, for example, a different fan’s rendition of a genie-themed Ghost-type Eeveelution named Mischeveon, envisioned as a purple feline draped in mystical attire.
While many Ghost-type Eeveelutions draw from spectral themes, creativity knows no bounds in this community. Halluceon, another fan-made creation from the past, depicted a chillingly unique vision: a slender, ghostly cat with a skull for a helmet and an eerie, purple globe in place of a neck. Yet another inventive creation was Ghouleon, which charmed the community with its smoky ghost tail, deep blue gaze, and wispy whiskers, crafted in shades of white, grey, and blue fur.
The ingenuity and talent on display in these fan-made creations only fuel the anticipation for an official Ghost-type Eeveelution from Nintendo. It would be fascinating to see how such a design would measure up against these fan creations, offering an exciting opportunity for the community to engage and compare their favorite versions with the official interpretations from the game developers.
