Up until recently, Razer was my preferred brand for gaming headsets. I was a big fan of the Razer Kraken Ultimate, the Kraken V3 lineup, and the Razer Kaira Pro while gaming on my PC. But this October, Alienware, Dell’s gaming division, launched a headset so impressive that I stashed away my trusted Razer gear. Enter the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset.
This headset is being positioned as a top-tier choice for those seeking outstanding sound and microphone quality, comfort, and reliable wireless performance. It hit the market with a hefty price tag of $229.99, but thanks to Black Friday, you can nab it for only $199.99 at Dell right now—a nice 13% discount off its original price.

Why I Recommend the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset
Dell’s "Pro" headset rounds out their 2024 accessories collection, alongside the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse and Keyboard released earlier this year. I even wrote in my review of the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset that it’s "the best wireless gaming headset I’ve used in years," outperforming my previous favorites from Razer like the Razer Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense and the Razer Kaira Pro.
One of the standout features of this headset is the microphone. Where Razer headsets often offer mic quality that’s just "alright," the Alienware Pro’s microphone is phenomenal. It captures my voice clearly every time and that’s crucial for my late-night gaming sessions with friends on Discord. While its AI noise-cancellation can be quite aggressive, without it, the mic still does a great job of filtering out background noise.
The audio quality is another highlight. With 50mm graphene-coated drivers, the Alienware Pro delivers a rich and well-balanced sound experience across a vast frequency range of 20-40KHz. The sound is fantastic, and it boasts impressive volume levels compared to recent Razer models, even without the added effects like HyperSense.
Although the fit is a bit snug compared to the roomier Razer headsets I’m used to, the lightweight design is a fair trade-off. The adjustable headband and flexible design accommodate various head sizes, and the plush memory foam leatherette earcups ensure extended gaming comfort. While I slightly prefer Razer’s cooler, more spacious cushions, the Alienware Pro is nearly as comfy.
Design-wise, Alienware opted for a more understated aesthetic with this headset, choosing a sleek and simple rounded design in "Lunar Light" white or "Dark Side of the Moon" black. It’s well-built with intuitive onboard controls for volume, mic muting, noise cancellation, and connectivity switching between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth. Both wireless options have worked like a charm, delivering nearly the full 70-75 hours of battery life promised by Alienware, with ANC turned off. And if needed, you can use it with a wired connection too.
The only downsides are the lack of compatibility with Xbox consoles and somewhat average ANC, but since I don’t often use an Xbox and I’m not a big fan of ANC, these aren’t major issues for me. However, if these drawbacks concern you, you might want to look at other top PC gaming headsets. Otherwise, you’ll really enjoy using this headset—especially with the current $30 discount making it just $199.99 at Dell. Since trying this headset, I haven’t returned to my Razer ones, and I doubt I will.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday lands right after Thanksgiving on November 29, 2024. Many stores have already begun their Black Friday sales to get ahead of the curve, so jumping on early deals can be savvy. You might hold off for the actual day for possibly better prices, but you risk missing out on stock.
When is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday follows on December 2, 2024, and is essentially a continuation of Black Friday sales, with many stores introducing fresh deals. It’s worth monitoring sales over the weekend to catch any new offers.
