Dodging fireballs wasn’t on my bucket list, but there I was, locked in battle with a massive drake hurling fiery projectiles my way. Armed with a bow, I let loose a barrage of arrows while deftly avoiding the incoming flames. Everything seemed to be going my way until one of the fireballs struck the wooden scaffolding I stood on, setting it ablaze and sending it crumbling beneath me. Perched high above, I quickly made a leap to safety, landing on an unscorched section.
Without missing a beat, I called upon my magical abilities, grabbed a charred piece of the ruined structure, and hurled it back at the beast. The makeshift missile found its mark, inflicting the final blow needed to bring the drake down. I couldn’t help but revel in how incredible that moment felt. With victory at hand, I dashed across debris littering the platform. That’s when the game’s sometimes unpredictable physics reared its head, and my character tumbled off the tower, hitting the ground below. I survived—albeit with a few bruises. Just another adventure in Eternal Strands, a game that’s as ambitious and entertaining as it is quirky. — Zack Zwiezen
