Back in July, the much-anticipated “Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable” debuted its Early Access on the Quest platform. Initially, players were introduced to just a single mission, referred to as a ‘chapter,’ alongside a few unlockable blades. This was only the beginning, as more content was promised to roll out gradually over the coming months. Fast forward to now, and developer UNIVRS has dropped the ‘Complete Edition,’ excitingly beefing up the experience with four full chapters.
When we tried out the game in July, it felt like stepping into a tech demonstration. Sure, it offered a decent chunk of the core gameplay, but we were limited to a lone chapter and an endless wave mode, complete with a scoreboard for some healthy competition.
Fast forward to the Complete Edition, where Part One players get to dive back in and tackle chapters three and four, delve into the Epilogue, and face off against an intimidating Armored Titan boss.
For the first time ever, co-op mode enters the fray, letting you and a friend navigate through all the chapters together. UNIVRS has spiced things up by hinting at a ‘Thunder Spear Unlock Event’ slated for January, which they’re framing as a “global challenge.” Mark your calendars for 2025, as a free update is also on the horizon according to their website.
Our initial impressions of the game earlier this year pointed out some rough edges. However, the game seems to have struck a chord with its audience. As of this writing, “Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable” holds an impressive [4.5/5] user rating on the Horizon Store.
If you snagged the Early Access version, you’ll happily find Part 2 available as a free download. For newcomers, Part 1 can be bought separately for $8, Part 2 for $12 (keeping in mind you need Part 1 first), or you can grab both Part 1 and Part 2 bundled together for $20. The game is compatible with Quest 2, Quest 3/S, and Quest Pro.
