It was the eve of the big update and everything was perfectly set. Gamers were deeply entrenched in their Xbox adventures, extending their sessions late into the night. Suddenly, an unexpected popup appeared on their consoles. A new system update was available—what a delightful surprise! This update held a bundle of fixes and introduced several cool features. Once downloaded, players dove back into their quests, joyfully battling in-game foes.
Hold onto your controllers, Insiders! We’ve got a brief yet festive update to share with our community. To start, our entire team wishes you the merriest of holidays and a wonderfully safe New Year! While I personally could do without the biting cold and early sunsets of this season, they do give us a perfect excuse to cozy up in snug sweaters and indulge in some Xbox gaming.
In the spirit of the holidays, much like in years past, we’ve paused the release of preview builds on both consoles and PCs. This allows us to ensure everyone’s gaming experience on Xbox is as stable as possible. Of course, we’re still hard at work behind the scenes on future releases! We’re rigorously reviewing feedback, and our team remains ready to tackle any issues that pop up. Be sure to keep an eye on the Insider Hub for fresh content rolling out through December and January.
From Our Team to You
We’re incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for making our community truly special. As part of the Xbox Insider Program, I’m filled with pride, and we can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support and enthusiasm.
Before I wrap up this update, I checked in with some of our team members to see what they’re getting up to this month, whether it’s gaming, unwinding, or any random pursuits. Here’s what they shared:
- Jon: Aiming to wrap up Indiana Jones and the Great Circle along with the Castlevania DLC for Vampire Survivors.
- Joshua: Excited to rewatch all those classic holiday films and dive into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
- Tim: Known for embracing a bit of self-torment, I’m working through Nine Sols. Plus, I’m eager to spend quality time with family visiting from out of town.
- Donovan: Can’t wait to go deep into Path of Exile 2, relish moments with family, and of course, watch those nostalgic Christmas movies.
- Sally: Planning to indulge in lots of cookies, enjoy cozy games, and hopefully a new PowerWash Simulator DLC. And, naturally, spending time with family and friends.
- Leland: Every year, I have a ritual. I carefully select two story-driven games that intrigue me and dedicate a solid week in mid-December to get completely immersed, effectively cutting off from the world. It’s my favorite tradition, and it’s right around the corner.
As for me, I’ve conquered the Black Ops 6 camo challenge, so it feels like I can finally savor the game! My next goals include checking off achievements in Aliens: Dark Descent and waging my annual battle against Jack Frost to ensure my geese’s pond doesn’t freeze over once more.
What about you? We’re eager to hear what you’ve been up to this month. Are there games you’re playing or any special holiday plans? Join the conversation on our subreddit under the December Community Update post pinned at the top. I’ll be around all month as ScantilyCloud to chat and answer any questions. And by all means, share any game recommendations from 2024—we’re always looking to expand our gaming horizons!
