The legal tussle between the teams behind Nintendo & The Pokémon Company and Pocketpair, the developers of Palworld, might be getting intense, but that hasn’t slowed down the fresh content flowing into Palworld. In a surprising move, the company has announced a collaboration with Terraria set for 2025.
This announcement came through the game’s social media, accompanied by a piece of promotional art. While the specifics of this crossover are still under wraps, our curiosity is definitely piqued.
Additionally, alongside news of the crossover, a brand-new island packed with novel creatures and challenges is slated to be added to Palworld this December. According to the developers, it’s expected to be the “largest, harshest, and most mysterious” island yet, to give you an idea, this new land is about six times the size of Sakurajima. There’s even a bunch of screenshots to feast your eyes on, which you can find below:
🚨 Major update coming in December! 🚨Survive on the largest, harshest, and most mysterious new island in Palworld! The size of the new island is about six times more than Sakurajima! Palworld is also currently 25% off! Now’s the perfect time to get ready for the update!
While the enthusiasm around Palworld isn’t quite at its peak as it was earlier this year, Pocketpair’s survival crafting venture, with its nods to Pokémon-like creatures and familiar gameplay mechanics, is maintaining an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam. It boasts thousands of daily players, not to mention those enjoying the game on Xbox and the recently added PS5 platform.
If Terraria indeed embraces Palworld’s content in 2025, it would be quite a substantial update for Re-Logic’s game, especially after they mentioned stepping back from their beloved 2D crafting masterpiece that originally came out in 2011.
In related news, fans were recently disgruntled after The Game Awards overlooked Palworld, prompting the game’s community manager to suggest everyone cool down. Furthermore, earlier today, we caught wind of Light of Motiram, a cheeky Tencent-backed knock-off of Horizon, stirring up discussions about Palworld’s intricate and apparently ‘inspirational’ links to Pokémon—an interesting twist in their ongoing story.
