In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you and your quirky companions—let’s admit, they’re quite the odd bunch—embark on a fantastical journey. Similarly, Baldur’s Gate 3 offers an experience where you team up with a colorful crew to dive into fantasy escapades. And now, thanks to a creative modder, you can blend elements of both games by decking out your Rook with some face tattoos.
Fear not, these tattoos are a step up from the questionable marks some DATV modders have plastered on Solas. After all, who wouldn’t love having cryptic characters scribbled on their forehead, whose meanings are as hazy as a misty morning?
Enter ShadyKnight, the modder with a mission to bring a touch of BG3 flair with their mod aptly named ‘Astarion Would Be Proud.’ “Just like it sounds, this mod swaps out almost all default tattoos with those from BG3,” they explained. “It’s not absolutely perfect yet, but I’m confident enough to share.” Sounds intriguing, right?
All your favorites have made the cut. There’s a touch of children’s party face paint, some ominous neck designs, elegant chin patterns hinting at a classy spill, and even a trio of cheeky birds to feign familiarity with nature. And yes, there’s even a dash of clown makeup for those daring at heart.
Whichever design you opt for, it’s sure to transport you back to those wild BG3 adventures. You’ll be deep in conversation with one of Veilguard’s charmingly polite party members when bam, a glance at your Rook’s tattoos will whisk you back to Astarion’s cheeky banter or that infamous moment when Lae’zel wrecked the camp in a heated frenzy.
Speaking of Veilguard, the game has just rolled out its third patch. While it’s not a massive update, it brings some nice touches to photo mode and UI, along with fixes for quirks like that peculiar facial expression Rook makes when first meeting Emmrich.
I must say, I’ll miss that odd expression; it probably served up some good laughs.
