PS Plus subscribers only have a couple of weeks left to grab some complimentary PS Stars points before some less-than-favorable changes roll out. These points have seemed “free” because subscribers renew their PS Plus memberships regardless of PS Stars. However, it’s been a nice little perk. Starting March 1, 2025, as was noted toward the end of last year, that perk will be going away.
No More PS Stars Points for Subscriptions Post-March 1
If your subscription is nearing its expiration and you intend to renew, it’s wise to do so by February 28. Once March rolls around, Sony plans to stop granting PS Stars points for any type of subscription, including PS Plus.
PS Plus has been a favorite way for many to accumulate points, which are otherwise fairly difficult to gather for anything substantial other than some digital collectibles that don’t currently offer much value. Sony, however, has decided to pull the plug on this method.
Just a heads up, any points you collect now come with an expiration date, meaning you’ve got a year from when they’re unlocked to use them. Moving forward, the PS Stars program will essentially cater to players who primarily make their game purchases digitally through the PS Store.
