As we hit that exciting time of the GT calendar once more, we’re on our way to the beautiful city of Amsterdam for the Grand Finals of the Gran Turismo World Series 2024. After an amazing trio of race events in Montreal in July, moving to Prague in August, and thrilling viewers in Tokyo in September, we’ve finally reached the pinnacle. The points at the leaderboard’s upper echelons couldn’t be closer as we return to Theater Amsterdam, reminiscent of the 2023 World Series Showdown.
The opening spectacle for this grand weekend is the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup final, starting at 4:00 PM CET on Friday, December 7. Known for its intense competition, the TGR GT Cup will be a stage where seasoned World Series drivers look to kickstart their weekends with a victory. New talents on the block also vie for recognition, with 24 racers from around the globe set to compete in two heats before the 2024 champion is crowned in the Grand Final.
Leading the points in the Manufacturers Cup are Team Lexus, although they’ll face a challenge as their star, Igor Fraga from Brazil—who clinched victory in Round 1 at Montreal—won’t be at the World Finals due to commitments in Japan’s Super GT racing circuit. Stepping up in his place will be Harald Walsen from Chile. Meanwhile, Team Porsche is eager to close their four-point gap, keeping a wary eye on Team BMW, who trails just one point behind them.
In Amsterdam, each race team, previously represented by a single driver in Rounds 1-3, will unite to tackle the strategic responsibilities and take on the race duties together. You can catch all the exhilarating Manufacturers Cup action live at 7:00 PM CET on Friday.
The spotlight shifts to the Nations Cup on Sunday, December 8, at 4:00 PM CET. Here, Frenchman Kylian Drumont’s impeccable performance in Tokyo has propelled him to the top of the leaderboard. However, it’s far from settled, as he holds just a one-point lead over a trio of former champions all tied for second: Spain’s Jose Serrano, Japan’s Montreal victor Takuma Miyazono, and Valerio Gallo of Italy, the Prague champion.
These thrilling competitions will unfold live in front of an audience at Theater Amsterdam, but for those who can’t attend, live streams will cover all the action. Here’s when to tune in:
