In recent news, IO Interactive, the studio renowned for creating the Hitman series, has decided to part ways with mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor. This decision comes in the wake of a civil court ruling where a woman succeeded in her case against McGregor, accusing him of rape. In their announcement made on Twitter, IO Interactive emphasized that the gravity of the court’s decision could not be overlooked.
Fans of the Hitman franchise might recall McGregor’s presence in the downloadable content titled The Disruptor. However, that collaboration has now come to an end. IO Interactive stated, “Following the recent court decision involving Conor McGregor, we have concluded that discontinuing our partnership with him is the right course of action. It’s a matter we hold in high regard and cannot disregard its ramifications.”
With these changes in motion, the studio also mentioned their plans to swiftly remove all related content featuring McGregor from their platforms, effective immediately.
