A leaked sneak peek has gamers buzzing about the upcoming limited edition PS5 DualSense controller, reportedly set to hit the shelves in 2024. Known leaker, billbil-kun, has revealed that Sony plans to release a controller themed around Helldivers 2, adding to their recent offerings like the Astro Bot and Fortnite controllers.
In billbil-kun’s post on Dealabs, it’s been revealed that unlike the Monster Hunter Wilds controller, which was exclusive to the Asian market, the Helldivers 2 DualSense controller will be accessible to fans globally, albeit in limited numbers. Priced at $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99, this special edition is expected to fall in line with the cost of other themed controllers.
While billbil-kun couldn’t provide a visual of the controller or pinpoint an exact release date, they did confirm we can expect its release sometime in 2024. It’s surprising it’s taken this long for a Helldivers 2 controller to appear, especially considering the game’s spectacular launch earlier this year.
Interestingly, this leak came hot on the heels of another tantalizing tidbit from billbil-kun about some upcoming PS5 accessories getting a sleek new color. Sources suggest that the DualSense Edge controller, along with the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earphones, will soon be available in black. This color change could be part of the festivities for PlayStation’s 30th anniversary.
It seems like the buzz around Sony’s behind-the-scenes activities is more focused on exciting new products and commemorative events, rather than a showcase of new game releases.
