According to recent updates, the launch of the RTX 5060 series GPUs has been delayed by several weeks, affecting both the 5060 Ti and 5060 models.
We’ve heard whispers about the upcoming GeForce RTX 5060 series facing setbacks just before the RTX 5070 makes its entrance. Initially, the 5060 series was set to debut in March and hit the shelves by April, but new reports indicate a further delay.
While the exact cause remains a bit of a mystery, Board Channels has confirmed that NVIDIA’s board partners are already in the loop about this change. Although this shift isn’t officially confirmed by NVIDIA, the information seems credible, especially since previous rumors hinted at bugs and supply challenges contributing to the postponement.
“NVIDIA has informed all AIC partners about the rescheduling of the RTX 5060 Ti/5060 series through internal communications,” Board Channels reports. “Expect the RTX 5060 Ti to likely debut in mid-April, with the 5060 series following around mid-May. Details, however, will be clarified closer to the date.”
So, if you’re eager for the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, look forward to a potential mid-April release, followed by the GTX 5060 in mid-May. It’s anticipated that both variants of the 5060 Ti will drop simultaneously. Yet, the precise dates remain under wraps, even from NVIDIA’s closest partners.
Coincidentally, this adjusted timeline may align with AMD’s launch of their RX 9060 series, which includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models in 8 GB and 16 GB variants. These are set to be direct competitors to NVIDIA’s 5060 series. Although the RX 9060 release date is also a bit foggy, it’s expected to emerge in the second quarter.
Looking at the specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is poised as the next step up from the RTX 4060 Ti, featuring 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 will take the reins from the RTX 4060, sporting 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Interestingly, a recent leak suggests a 12 GB VRAM version of the 5060, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed. If true, this could give NVIDIA a competitive edge, considering AMD is rumored to only offer an 8 GB version.
