Sony recently dropped some exciting news about a remastered version of Days Gone coming to the PS5. However, there’s a catch for those who snagged it through PS Plus.
At some point, I can’t remember exactly when, Days Gone was one of the free monthly titles handed out by PS Plus. If you grabbed it then, it’s probably sitting in your library right now. You might have been thrilled to hear that a shiny PS5 remaster of the game is on its way, and for those who own it on PS4, upgrading will only set you back $10. Sounds great, right? Here’s the kicker, though: this sweet deal only applies if you bought the physical or digital version. If you got it through PS Plus, you’re out of luck with the upgrade.
This little detail was tucked away in the fine print of Bend Studio’s announcement post, which states, “PS4 game redemptions via PlayStation Plus are not eligible for upgrade.” It seems a bit of a strange decision, considering plenty of gamers might be happy to shell out $10 for the enhanced version. Maybe Sony’s banking on folks buying the remaster outright instead.
Days Gone originally hit the PS4 back in 2019 and, let’s be honest, received mixed reviews. Despite that, it seemed to sell reasonably well. However, a sequel hasn’t been in the cards, with Bend Studio confirming last year that it’s not happening. There was some buzz in 2022 about a movie adaptation, but details have been sparse. This remaster might well be the last time Days Gone finds its way into the spotlight.
For those eager to dive back into the action, Days Gone Remastered lands April 25 on PS5 and PC.
