If you didn’t catch Rise of the Ronin when it first launched last year, the new PC port might just change that for you. This announcement has certainly stirred excitement among PC gamers and Team Ninja enthusiasts. Hot on the heels of last week’s news about Ninja Gaiden 2 Black making its way to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja bring more to the table, revealing that Rise of the Ronin is getting a PC release. Eager fans won’t have to wait too long, either, as it’s slated for release on March 11. Interestingly, this period is shaping up to be a busy one for Japanese-themed games with Assassin’s Creed Shadows dropping just over a week later. Check out the trailer for the PC release below—it’s packed with excitement!
For the PC version, gamers are in for a treat with a host of exclusive features. You can look forward to experiencing the game in stunning 8K resolution, support for DirectX 12 Ultimate, and compatibility with ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitors. It also supports 120fps, ray tracing, and 3D audio. Customizable controls for keyboard and mouse are a plus, alongside AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution, NVIDIA DLSS, Reflex support, and Intel XeSS graphics technology. The UI menu is also mouse-click enabled, making navigation smoother.
When Rise of the Ronin initially launched, it garnered generally positive, albeit not extraordinary, reviews. Our own Sherif scored it a 3 out of 5, commenting, “Much of what you can experience in Rise of the Ronin has been done better elsewhere. Team Ninja picked the wrong edges to smooth off. Rather than go down the Elden Ring road of allowing freedom of exploration and discovery to balance out the challenge of combat, Rise of the Ronin instead takes a step backwards to the era of rigid open-world games that put players on treadmills, and train them to expect rewards when the bell rings. It’s a disappointing change of stance from Team Ninja, and one that could leave them open to an unfortunately mortal blow.”
Here’s hoping the new Ninja Gaiden, which is being developed alongside Platinum Games, has a bit more success!
