Take-Two Interactive recently announced their anticipation of supporting the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, though they aren’t quite ready to spill all the beans just yet.
The company has a solid track record with the original Nintendo Switch, bringing a host of popular titles to the platform. Fans have enjoyed games like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, XCOM 2 Collection, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. They’ve also released recent hits like NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on the console.
During Take-Two Interactive’s Q3 2025 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke about their ongoing partnership with Nintendo. “We’ve always had a strong bond with Nintendo, and have offered our support when it aligned with our release strategies. In the past, Nintendo seemed to cater more to younger audiences, and our game releases reflected that,” he noted. “But with the Nintendo Switch, and the promise of Switch 2, the platform now appeals to a broader audience. For instance, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is now on Switch. While there’s not much to disclose at the moment, we do intend to support Switch 2.”
If you’re eager to get the scoop on Nintendo’s latest console, you won’t want to miss the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation. It’s scheduled to broadcast at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm BST / 3 pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
As for when the Nintendo Switch 2 will actually hit the shelves, it’s set for a worldwide release in 2025. However, the exact launch date is still under wraps for now.
