Troy Baker, the renowned voice actor famous for bringing iconic gaming characters to life, is gearing up for a new project with Sony’s Naughty Dog. While details remain tight-lipped, we do know the project is helmed by Neil Druckmann.
### Troy Baker Joins Forces with Naughty Dog Again
A recent profile in GQ, highlighted by Eurogamer, confirms that the prominent actor from “The Last of Us” is set to team up with Naughty Dog once more. Druckmann couldn’t hide his excitement about collaborating again, expressing, “I’d work with Troy in a heartbeat.”
While there’s no official word yet on Naughty Dog’s upcoming game, hints have been dropped here and there—some straight from Druckmann. During a webinar with BioShock creator Ken Lavine, Druckmann mentioned the game’s development kicked off in 2020. Though Sony hasn’t greenlit a public announcement, he’s enjoying full creative freedom over the project.
Speculation is rife about the studio delving into a fantasy game, rumored to emphasize giving players more freedom.
Baker has an impressive history in the gaming industry, having played key roles in popular series such as “The Last of Us,” “Death Stranding,” “Borderlands,” “Uncharted,” and “Metal Gear Solid.” Lately, however, he’s been relatively quiet. This year, he lends his voice to just two new titles: “Batman: Arkham Shadow” and the upcoming “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.”
GQ’s profile suggests that Baker’s status in the industry now allows him the luxury of being choosier with his projects. This includes his role in the much-anticipated Ken Lavine game, “Judas.” Additionally, he’s set to reprise his role as Higgs in the sequel, “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.”
Rumblings in the industry suggest that PlayStation might have some major announcements lined up soon, and this project could very well be one of them.
