This week, there’s plenty of action happening on the Nintendo Switch eShop, including some favorite SNES titles, new music tracks for Nintendo’s app, enticing sales, and a slew of fresh games crashing onto the scene.
Four classic titles from the SNES era, developed by the legendary Koei, are being ushered into the Switch Online collection. To start, we have Nobunaga’s Ambition and its sequel, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, both set against the backdrop of Japan’s tumultuous Sengoku period. Your mission? Unite the warring regions, deploying strategy and skill in your battles. Originally gracing our screens in 1993 and 1994, these titles are real gems from years gone by.
Continuing the historical theme, Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire takes you to ancient China. This 1994 strategy game draws inspiration from the famous novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It’s all about navigating power struggles and achieving victory in a beautifully crafted turn-based environment.
Sailing onto the list is Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Set during Europe’s Age of Discovery, this game lets you traverse the high seas. First launched in 1993, it’s a captivating blend of exploration and trading, perfect for those with an adventurous spirit.
Switching gears to Nintendo’s Music app, we’re getting a curious addition this week. While it doesn’t include the complete set, 23 tracks from Kirby and the Forgotten Land have been stirred in. So where’s the rest? Hopefully, they’ll drop in soon.
And let’s not forget the other games hitting the eShop this week. One to watch is Which Way Up: Galaxy Games. We caught up with Turtle Flip Studio, its developer, on last week’s Pure Nintendo Podcast, so make sure to give that a listen and keep an eye out for our upcoming review.
That’s about it for this week’s eShop briefing. What’s caught your eye? Let us know what you’ll be playing!
