Gaijin Entertainment, known for their hit game War Thunder from 2013, has some exciting news for fans of aerial combat games. They’ve announced that Aces of Thunder, their highly anticipated VR aerial combat game, will be coming to PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets sometime this year.
This thrilling game was first revealed back in 2023, and it was initially set to launch in the last quarter of 2024. Aces of Thunder promises to feature some of the most iconic aircraft from both World War I and World War II, making its way to platforms like SteamVR and PSVR 2.
Gaijin Entertainment has showcased an impressive lineup of WWII planes, and they’ve recently added a selection of WWI aircraft as well. They’ve pulled out all the stops to ensure an authentic experience. You’ll find legendary planes like the Fokker Dr.I, famously piloted by the Red Baron, and the SPAD S.XIII, which was flown by René Fonck, the most celebrated Allied ace. These planes will have highly detailed cockpits, historically accurate weapons, and realistic flight physics, creating a gameplay experience that feels incredibly immersive.
This fantastic range of WWI planes joins an already stellar roster of WWII aircraft. Players can take to the skies in a variety of famous planes, including the American P-51 Mustang and P-63 Kingcobra, the German Bf 109 and Fw 190, the Soviet IL-2, the British Spitfire, and the Japanese A6M3 Zero.
As for the release date, while they haven’t nailed down an exact launch date yet, we know that Aces of Thunder is now aimed for a 2025 release. While we wait, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam and the PlayStation Store if you’re set to play on PSVR 2.
Pricing details are still under wraps, but rest assured, we’re on the lookout for any updates. Keep your eyes peeled for any news as we eagerly await the release of Aces of Thunder.
