Rebellion has exciting news for VR enthusiasts and Zombie Army fans alike. They’re gearing up to launch their very first VR installment of the Zombie Army series, which promises to bring its thrilling cooperative campaign to all the major VR platforms next month.
Starting May 22nd, players using Quest 2 and newer models, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets can immerse themselves in Zombie Army VR. This latest addition throws players into the franchise’s signature zombie mayhem, where they’ll join forces with the Deadhunters—a formidable unit sworn to put an end to the apocalypse.
In Rebellion’s own words, “Plunge into the chaos and fight your way through the undead near the war-torn city of Nuremberg. Your mission: assist Captain Hermann Wolff, the renowned leader of the Deadhunters, in reuniting with his family and liberate Europe from the grips of the zombie menace.”
Accompanied by a vivid image courtesy of Rebellion, this game is set to deliver a “full-length, story-driven campaign” that players can tackle solo or with a friend in two-player co-op mode. True to the franchise’s roots, players will have access to an authentic array of World War II firearms, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols. And yes, you’ll even get to dual-wield and manually operate these weapons for a more immersive experience.
As you progress, you can earn XP to enhance your Deadhunter and apply Weapon Upgrade kits to tweak your weapons’ range, accuracy, scope, and ammo capacity. The undead adversaries you’ll face are not to be underestimated, as they include Armored Giants, Suiciders, Sniper Zombies, and a mix of other series favorites. Additionally, the much-loved X-ray Kill Cam feature from Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR (2021) will make a comeback, letting players savor those satisfying long-range shots in all their slow-motion glory.
If this has piqued your interest, you can already pre-order Zombie Army VR. It’s currently available at a 10% discount off its regular $30 price on platforms like the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and newer models, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and Steam for PC VR headsets.
